Description
Section A: Were you familiar with these series of events in US history? Did you know that women’s history (as well as other minority groups) was not studied in University classes until the mid-1970s? (And Universities have been around in this country since the mid-1600s). It is only in recent decades that students can take classes on particular aspects of history such as classes on African-American history, Native-American history, and other groups that have often been ignored or not really examined in US history survey courses.
Section B: What is your reaction to watching the film, Iron Jawed Angels and reading the articles on the history of the women’s movement and Alice Paul? Has your view of the term “Feminist” changed? Why or why not? Why do you think future generations need to know about how women gained the right to vote?
