Descrip�on of RA 2:
For this assignment, you are to review the scenario below and develop an 8- to 10-page report (plus a cover page and reference page), following the direc�ons below. Please also review the below descrip�on of the quan�ta�ve methodology called Mul�ple Regression and then watch the Lynda.com video Compu�ng a Mul�ple Regression as well, to increase your familiarity with this method of analyzing data. Please note that you are not expected to use the program depicted in the video or use the language described in the video to write your report for this assignment.
Mul�ple Regression:
Industrial Organiza�onal Psychology specialists o�en examine the ways in which one or more variables can predict another. Mul�ple regression is a popular sta�s�cal tool that is u�lized for predic�ng an outcome (the dependent variable, or target) from two or more independent variables (the predictors). In business, regression equa�ons may be used to study or forecast salaries, hiring needs, sales, turnover rates, etc. In essence, the process both iden�fies the predictors, or combina�on of them, that best explain the variability in observa�ons on the dependent variable. The resul�ng equa�on for the best fit of the data can then be tested on, or applied to, new observa�ons to predict not- yet-observed outcomes.

Scenario:
You have been contracted by a company to hire the next chief execu�ve officer (CEO). The company has given you a list of five poten�al candidates for that posi�on, and wants you to first gather data about the execu�ves to help determine the best candidate. The candidates have been engaged in coaching and have also taken an emo�onal intelligence (EI) test. You suspect that variables such as years of experience as an execu�ve, months of coaching, and years of educa�on will contribute to the scores on the EI test, as well as the success of the right candidate. In this case, the higher the EI score, the be�er. More business experience, higher educa�on, more months with a coach, and higher EI test scores indicate the more appropriate candidates. The assump�on is that the company has offered coaching in the past. The data of the emo�onal intelligence test conducted on the candidates is given in the table below:

Direc�ons:
Using any research methods textbook that you may have and at least five addi�onal scholarly sources from the Argosy University online library (regarding mul�ple regression and mul�ple predictor variables), create an 8- to 10-page report for company leadership. Complete the following to include in the report:
Perform a mul�ple regression analysis. On the basis of the results and the scholarly literature regarding predictors of chief execu�ve officer’s (CEO’s) performance, recommend the best candidate and jus�fied your choice.
Describe the sta�s�cal analyses used and the mul�ple regression that is best suited for this type of measurement.
Determine the best predictors of the emo�onal intelligence (EI) test scores.
Iden�fy other external variables that could influence one’s choice and explained why.
Offer addi�onal recommenda�ons in regard to the variables used and your findings.
Iden�fy any ethical and diversity issues that may affect the selec�on process.
Your final product will be in a Microso� Word document approximately eight to ten pages in length. U�lize at least five scholarly sources in your research. Your paper should be wri�en in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representa�on and a�ribu�on of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctua�on.
